Established in 1998, the AABC is the central governing body for all baseball associations in Alberta. It is the provincial organization that is recognized by Alberta Sport Connection, the department of the Alberta Government that funds organizations that enhance communities.
The Alberta Amateur Baseball Council consists of Little League Alberta, Baseball Alberta, Babe Ruth League, American Legion League and the Collegiate Baseball League. These organizations receive funding through their membership in the Alberta Amateur Baseball Council to run their programs. These individual organizations account for approximately 31,000 baseball players in the province of Alberta.
In addition to distributing funding to our Member Organizations, the AABC also provides the opportunity of training and competition for athletes being identified and trained as having the necessary talent to participate for Team Alberta at regional and national training opportunities and tournaments, such as the Top 40 Invitational, Spring Training, Alberta Summer Games, Western Canada Summer Games, Canada Summer Games, and any other regional tournaments that may arise.
